Kart Coach News - First & Second Quarters
Connor Gibbs (Junior Rotax):
Connor has had a very successful first half of the 2011 season, culminating at the July meeting at Shenington. Fastest in the first heat by over four tenths and qualifying on the front row of the grid, Connor is now a successful and prominent driver at both Shenington and Whilton Mill. We stand in the top six in Whilton Mill’s club championship, and whilst lying in third at Shenington, aim to challenge for the title by the end of the season. Connor is only moving forward, and is proving a flagship for the Kart Coach team.
Daniel Seiger (Mini Max):
Daniel is now significantly through his first few novice races, and has progressed on innumerable occasions at both our regular tracks, Shenington and Whilton Mill. Having only recently moved up to minimax, he has had to contend with a massive transition, and in the circumstances has dealt with them particularly well. Full plates are only a matter of time away, but Daniel will surely be contending for a novice trophy before then. With further coaching, and vital seat time, Daniel’s performance will only pick up.
Harry Bishop (Mini Max):
Having almost completed all his novice races, Harry has proven competitive at Whilton Mill, and especially at Shenington. Often fighting with full plate drivers in the opening stages of many races, Harry just requires a little more pace to contend throughout the race. Harry is a mature young driver that will only progress further with more seat time and experience.
David Lane (Senior Rotax):
David has now completed all his novice races, the last of which he attained the novice trophy at Shenington. His first full plate race is scheduled for Whilton Mill’s Brazilian Cup, where we hope a new set of tyres and a fresher engine will propel him further up the grid.
Archie Strong (Cadet)
Archie’s driving has changed no end this season, developing into a competitive mid-grid driver. Often qualifying respectively within cadet grids of over forty, he is without a doubt a driver to look out for in the latter half of this year. A new kart earlier on in the year, as well as fresher engines has enabled us to consistently provide an improved package for Archie, whatever the conditions.
Gabe Buckley (Cadet)
Although luck hasn’t always come Gabe’s way, he has undoubtedly improved throughout this year. Gabe has come to Whilton Mill for the first time, finishing very respectably for a maiden outing. At Shenington, his performance continues to progress, to the stage whereby soon he will be a mid-grid contender at both our circuits, within over-subscribed grids. Full plates will be Gabe’s next major transition, but ultimately will only aid him in progressing further.
Daniel O’Beirne (Mini Max)
Already a proven cadet champion, Daniel has only proved to continue this form to minimax. Continually competitive at the highest level, Daniel is a championship contender at Whilton Mill and Shenington. We look forward to Daniel joining us for Kart Masters, the GP race at PF International in August, where hopefully a change of scene and a fresh track will aid us in attaining a competitive finish.
Ed Tansley (Cadet)
Although Ed has only spent one weekend with Kart Coach this year, he is now one of the most competitive cadet drivers of this season. Regularly finishing in the top three, and often qualifying in the top six for the finals, Ed is only a matter of meetings away from becoming a dominant driver both in cadets, and also in minimax when he moves up permanently.
